ABOUT THE ARTIST
Su Nimon has been an artist her whole life since getting to go to art classes at her aunt Ruth’s house as a child. She’s had a lot of other careers along the way, but each step has brought her closer to the point where she can actually say that she works as an artist! Nimon spent years working as a graphic designer… making other people’s art come alive. Finally with the opening of Journey Studios, she has the venue to begin displaying her art, as well as still doing other work. She has attended art school but is mostly self taught, exploring lots of different mediums as the spirit moves her.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I’m exploring. I’m drawn to the simple expressions of contrasts and color. I enjoy simple images that evoke emotion in the viewer. Images that remind or encourage seem to be what’s appearing on the walls lately.
