‘Versatile’ is sometimes a word one throws around… something nice you use to describe someone of varied interests, or someone who can’t quite focus on just one pursuit.
It’s also unequivocally the word one uses to describe a true renaissance soul like Su Nimon – an artist who is delightfully dexterous in art and in life.
What differentiates a good artist from a great one? I think the difference is largely in the details. It takes a subtle hand and the soft undulating undertones of a well rehearsed stroke, certainly. But the stroke of a great artist retains its own character, its true nature, too.
Irene Tobias Rodriguez is a great example of someone who is genuine in the detail of her landscapes, seascapes and naturalist scenes.
